Mainstream magazine

This is a much wider distributed magazine I analysed in class. If you could not tell I looked at the wire, the key features of the cover are:

• Large bold, contrasting title, being obscured by the image
• Over all dark colour scheme making the title stand out even more
• Lack of tag lines and or mini head lines
• The image of LIL B is situated over the city giving him a dominant appearance
• He is enveloped in shadow giving him a intimidating feel about him

• Main image a mid shot
• His clothes blend in to background
• Text contrasts with the dark background
• Study related props in image
• Headlines pop up with short descriptions
• Main image obscures the name showing importance of the figure

Research task

I intend too produce a college magazine as a preliminary task for my course.I have accumulated some front covers to pick apart for insporation, tips and to identify the ever presant techniques in all covers.

• The main image is of a mature man crouching in some kind of field.Seemingly unrelated to the title "CAMPUS LIFE"
• His clothes contrast the monotone dull grass behind him
• Not cluttered with headlines
• Colour of font are red and white
